Backlash from Dolce & Gabbana controversial ad continues as products are pulled down

Product of Italian fashion powerbrand, Dolce & Gabbana are being removed from Chinese e-commerce websites as the backlash from a controversial video ad continues to hit the company.
Retailers across major e-commerce sites Taobao and JD.com, as well as smaller platforms Kaola and Secoo, have pulled down Dolce & Gabbana products
The luxury brand had, in trying to promote an upcoming fashion show in Shanghai, had posted a video a Chinese model struggling to eat pasta and pizza with chopsticks.
The issue become worse when messages contain insulting/offensive words allegedly written by co-founder Stefano Gabbana, were released online and it quickly went viral.
The company apologised for any offence the video may have caused, with the fashion show cancelled. It also said the firm's and Gabbana's Instagram accounts had been hacked, in defence of the viral messages attributed to the co-founder.
Facing the prospect of losing out on the world's biggest market, Gabbana and co-founder Domenico Dolce issued another apology on Friday appealing for their "misunderstanding of Chinese culture" to be forgiven, in a video published by local media, South China Morning Post.
