- WAEC Cancels 29 certificates.
- Some were issued 28 years ago.
- Some pertained to individuals who willingly returned the certificates and admitted involvement in malpractice.
The West African Examinations Council recently took possession of several certificates and after its most recent National Examinations Committee meeting, it decided to cancel 29 of them. These certificates were cancelled as a result of malpractice on the part of the students.
Although there were no suspicions of malpractice in some of these cases, the individuals involved willingly returned the certificates and admitted to committing malpractice. The said students had become born again and were seeking restitution for their past actions.
