Angry leaders of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have told the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye, that contrary to his assertion that the renewed agitation for Biafra Republic was borne out of frustration, they are on a mission to free the race.
In a press statement issued by its Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Nmezu, IPOB said that those behind the agitation "are not frustrated people but accomplished individuals in their various fields."
The group argued that the renewed agitation for Biafra is the collective will of the Igbo who were never consulted before the colonial masters crammed them into Nigeria, but now want to have an Independent country.
IPOB said: "This statement credited to the APGA chairman Chief Victor Oye shows the entire public how the party and the Anambra state governor Chief Willie Obiano collaborated with the federal government killed unarmed civilians during our peaceful remembrance day event in Anambra because he feel's they are frustrated people.
"The supreme leader of the party late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu formed the party for the welfare of his people not to kill them in the name of protecting political ambition and since he left the world all those busy body in the party are making every effort to ensure that they kill the party and now it is dead.
"Oye who have not come out openly to condemned the killing of unarmed civilians during the peaceful remembrance events on 30th May 2016 now he come out to condemned the organization that is bigger than him. This man since assumed the position of the chairman of the party he has not achieved any meaningful something for the party."
