No more dollars for Eagles home games

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it will soon abolish the payment of players and coaches' bonuses and allowances in dollars.

This was one of the key recommendations by the NFF technical committee after its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.
Part of the far reaching recommendations included that only head coaches will be on full employment of the NFF, while assistant coaches will be on part-time basis.

According to impeccable sources, if the NFF board endorses the recommendations, players and officials of the various national teams will no longer be paid in US dollars for home matches.

Also the national teams will not be paid bonuses on match-by-match basis, but rather for various stages of a tournament, like qualifying for a major tournament and reaching the various rounds of these competitions

It was gathered that these are some of the measures planned to reduce the heavy financial burden on a cash strapped NFF.

"We believe some of these measures will go a long on reducing the heavy financial pressure on the NFF," according to africanFootball.com.

The various national teams are now owed several months' salaries and bonuses are yet to be paid to players and officials of both the Super Eagles and coaches.
