The Ukrainian mission in France, on Thursday, called on the French Government to maintain its firm position on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions.
This comes after the French Senate on Wednesday appealed to the Francois Hollande-led Government, to phase out economic sanctions imposed against Russia, by the European Union.
The Ukrainian Embassy in France sent out a tweet on Thursday, stating: "The Senate has adopted a resolution calling for lifting sanctions against Russia. The firm position and the responsibility of the French government are crucial."
The Senate's appeal is not binding on the Government, but only reflects the recommendations of the parliament.
