Despite the strong resolve of former captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama and striker, Emmanuel Emenike not to change their earlier decisions of quitting the national team,The Super Eagles interim chief coach, Samson Siasia, has insisted that the technical crew would need the services of the both former players.
Siasia, who spoke with newsmen in Abuja yesterday said, that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently in talks with Enyeama, and Emenike on a possible return to the team following their impressive forms at their European clubs.
He noted that the aim was to ensure that the country assembles its best legs against Egypt, adding that the two players would be needed to ensure that the Super Eagles seal their victory over Egypt on March 25 in Kaduna.
Nigeria has a back-to-back 2017 Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifying matches against Egypt with the first leg encounter taking place in Kaduna on March 25, while the return leg match is scheduled for Cairo on March 29.
Siasia disclosed that the NFF has already commenced steps to facilitate the players return to the team as it is committed to ensuring that the Eagles overcome the pharaohs.
``We just finished talking with the NFF Technical Director Shaibu Amadu; we are putting the list of invited players together and after the NFF technical committee meeting on Thursday, the list would be released,'' he said.
``The Super Eagles Secretary Dayo Enebi, will be contacting the invited players and he is talking with Enyeama and Emenike; we will talk with them when they are ready to talk. We will be happy to see these players back in the team if they can help us to qualify for 2017 AFCON,'' he said.
Siasia, who is making his return to the Super Eagles job, insisted that he was not under any pressure to beat Egypt.
``The job for me is tasking but we are here for challenges and, being a challenge does not mean that it's a mountain we cannot climb. I am not feeling any pressure. All I want to do is to ensure we do well in the two games against Egypt,'' he added.
