The sureties; Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ben Elshalom (a Jewish priest) and Tochukwu Uchendu, were given the order having failed to produce Kanu in court as directed by the judge, following his several adjournments due to IPOB leader's non-appearance in court, a result of the after of an alleged military raid of his home in, Umuahia, in Abia State on September 14th, 2017.

Justice Nyako gave the three sureties two month period to pay the money while reiterating that the order was an order of interim forfeiture.
