Man United manager faces possible sack after season ends

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, could face a possible sack at the end of the season should the club fail to seal the top six spot when Premier League campaign runs out.

The Norwegian joined the Old Trafford outfits after Jose Mourinho was given disgraceful marching orders out of the Theatre of Dreams. A couple of beautiful wins earlier signposted a good start but since his confirmation in a permanent capacity, United have been experiencing a torrid run in the league. A big-money move for top stars including Bruno Fernandes, Aaron Wan Bissaka and world-record signing Harry Maguire could not solve the club's problem and there are talks the Norwegian could be asked to leave. Man United presently sit on the 8th spot on the log with meagre 35 points in 25 games behind Everton, Tottenham and Sheffield United. With the club looking like a side to miss out on the top four, Man United hierarchy is considering sacking Solskjaer who they see as a bad option. According to an inside source, United are lining in former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as an ideal replacement, with other managers also waiting in the wing. Pochettino, who was recently sacked by Spurs, has been without a job since his exit and United are ready to lure him to Old Trafford because of his managerial experience. The Argentine, during his time at Tottenham, brought the club into their Champions League final for the first time against Premier League rivals Liverpool. Pochettino is seen as a charismatic dynamic manager who can turn things around for the Red Devils.
