Singer Eedris Abdulkareem arrested for beating landlord over unpaid electricity bill

Social media is currently buzzing with reactions following reports of Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem's recent encounter with the law concerning an issue with his landlord in Lagos state.

According to reports, the veteran singer popularly known for his 2004 hit song, Jaga jaga, was recently arrested by the police for allegedly beaten up his landlord over an unpaid N535,000 accumulated electricity bill. Abdulkareem reportedly forcefully gained entrance into his landlord’s compound in order to beat and strangle him for instructing officials of Ikeja Electricity Destribution ( IKED) to disconnect his house. Speaking to the police, the landlord identified as Oladipo Abimbola, revealed he had no idea the singer was his tenant as it was his wife who rented the apartment on his behalf. Describing the singer as antisocial and dangerous, he claimed Abdulkareem was fond of owing rent. The singer on his part, denied the accusations. He further accused the landlord of sexually harassing his wife in his absence. He also claimed that the landlord had been previously arrested for a similar offence in the past. The case is said to be ongoing.
