Breaking: Supreme Court upholds conviction of ex-Taraba governor, Nyame

The Supreme Court has given final judgement on the conviction of the former Governor of Taraba State, Reverend Jolly Nyame. The apex court upheld the conviction and 12-year imprisonment handed to Nyame by the Court of Appeal, Abuja, in 2018. Reverend Nyame was sentenced over the fraud he committed while serving as the governor of Taraba state, Vanguard reports. Legit.ng gathers that the apex court in its judgement on Friday, February 7, however, set aside part of the appeal court's judgement which imposed fines on Nyame. Thus, the former governor will have to serve out his prison term, though he no longer has fines to pay, according to the Supreme Court.
