IGP Adamu orders clampdown on vehicles with covered number plates

On Monday, February 3, the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, made moves in ensuring the safety of the people and country when he gave a new order.

The police chief in a recent announcement ordered the clampdown on illegal use of siren, revolving lights and spy number plates. This is following the working visit of the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Boboye Oyeyemi and his team at the police headquarters. Adamu in a statement by the police force PRO, Frank Mba noted that all police commissioners of Police have been directed to seize all vehicles caught illegally using spy number plates, sirens, revolving lights or covered number plates. Mba went on to explain that any vehicle found without permit for such practice will be impounded immediately. The directive was given from the police boss because such practices are illegal and constitute security risks.
