Odion Ighalo: Striker warned by former boss ahead of his Man united debut

Odion Ighalo has been issued a strong warning by Quique Sanchez Flores, with the experienced manager saying the star striker should not expect a soft go in Manchester United.

Ighalo completed a dream sensational EPL return after agreeing to terms with the Old Trafford outfits albeit without no option of purchase at the end of the season. United were in desperate need of a striker who can fill the void for injured Marcus Rashford and Ighalo emerged on their transfer consideration list. The 30-year-old forward has two years left on his contract with the Chinese side but the mutual agreement with his club has now seen him depart for Old Trafford. The stellar striker scored a sum of 17 goals in 55 Premier League appearances for the Watford before sealing a move to Chinese League One in 2017. With the forward basking in the joy of his transfer and pictured at The Lowry Hotel, Flores warned him of the challenges ahead, saying he may take time to get up to speed as training pattern in China is different from EPL. Mainly, the problem is how they train in China. It is not the same as in England,'' Flores said. “He probably needs one month to recover the full rhythm. The good thing is he knows his body well, works hard on injury prevention and he is always working after training. Flores, who coached Ighalo at Watford and China, claimed the striker is in the world of his own and he is capable of replicating his brilliance on his second spell. I should say, also, that I felt in China, he gave exactly the same effort and quality as he gave me four years ago. ''We had the feeling in China that he could recover a high level with any team in Europe,” he further said.
