Kano father gives 4 conditions to son’s 46-year-old American lover

The father of a 23-year-old Kano-born lover, Sulaiman Babayero, has said he will only allow his son to marry his 46-year-old American lover under four conditions. Sulaiman had met Jeanine Deslky on Instagram a year ago as their then friendship blossomed and turned into an online courtship. Daily Trust reports that upon her visit to Nigeria, Deslky had met with Sulaiman's father at their Panshekara residence where she informed him of her intentions to tie the knots with his son.

The American said she had earlier in all her life met and had different online dates but it was clear to her that Sulaiman is genuine and is ready to spend the rest of his life with her as husband and wife. The American said she had earlier in all her life met and had different online dates but it was clear to her that Sulaiman is genuine and is ready to spend the rest of his life with her as husband and wife. Deslky, a mother of two said she intends to marry Sulaiman - probably in march - and fly back to the United States of America where they have planned to settle. However, in a swift reaction, Sulaiman's father, Isa, said although he is not against the love and plans for marriage, his son had just graduated from secondary school and that he would only approve of the union should his four conditions be met. Isa, who is a retired superintendent of Police told Kano Focus that the union between his son and his America lover can only be consummated if the conditions are met. While Fatima Sulaiman, the mother of the young man, said she had no objection to her son’s relationship with the woman, Isa said he would report the matter to the State Security Service (SSS) before giving his consent. According to Isa, the purpose of getting the SSS involved is an opportunity for him to seek security clearance on the matter. Isa said: “We are trying to do that, we’ll do that, we can’t do without that, we must do that. As a retired security officer, I know what I’m talking about. In fact, I’ll be seeing the SSS by Monday to tell them about the situation.” Secondly, Isa said his son would be allowed to further his education in the US while his third condition is that Isa would maintain his adherence to the Islamic religion. “I want him to further his education and maintain his religion. No problem, maybe she may become a Muslim too,” Isa said. He further added that his final condition is that the bride-to-be must produce a written document of consent from her parents or relations as Muslims are not allowed to marry a woman on her own. It was gathered that Deslky is expected to leave Nigeria next before returning in March for the wedding.
