Conor McGregor seeks for revenge against Floyd Mayweather in rematch

Conor McGregor is still disgruntled by his defeat to Floyd Mayweather and the UFC star believes he will take revenge should there be a rematch with the American boxing legend.

The Irishman was totally outsmarted by Mayweather in the 10th round in 2017 during a bout that appeared to be McGregor's debut to professional boxing. The fight looked coming the way of McGregor but Mayweather combined experience and top-notch boxing skills to knock-out the outspoken UFC star. Speaking with ESPN ahead of his welterweight fight with Donald Cerrone, McGregor took swipe at the American boxing star and believed he was "phenomenal in that bout." I was phenomenal in that bout, the only reason I lost was because I prepared for a back-footed Philly Shell style of opponent," the UFC star said. "When the fight was like that, I was picking him apart then he came forward and started pressing." The 31-year-old former featherweight and lightweight champion also said a rematch with Mayweather can only save him from the nightmare of his fall. "I'd like to rematch Floyd, I think we should rematch Floyd. "I know I would beat him if we rematch, when we rematch. It's going to happen again but I am open to other boxing bouts," McGregor further submitted.
