All the teams that qualified for the champions league round of 16

After weeks of panic and anxiety all the 32 teams that were participating in this year's edition of the Champions League group stages have learned their fate. The group stages appear to have lived up to its billing as top European clubs eased past the round to reach the last 16.
Ajax, who were semi-finalists last season were perhaps the biggest losers as they crashed out of the competition. The Dutch side was pooled alongside Chelsea, Valencia and Lille in Group H which was widely touted as the group of death. But they failed to make out of the group, with their 1-0 slim defeat to Valencia at home sealing their fate. Meanwhile, all the four Premier League clubs who are participating in the competition progressed to the next round of the competition. However, Liverpool, who are the defending champions alongside Chelsea had to wait until the last day to confirm their place in the next stage. Man City and Tottenham Hotspur went into their final group clashes against Dinamo Zagreb and Bayern Munich having already qualified. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia and Atletico Madrid will be Spain's representatives in the Round of 16, with Germany having Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Leipzig. France will have just Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon in the next stage after Lille were dumped out, while Italy will have Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta. The draw for the last 16 of the tournament will take place on Monday, December 16 at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. One of the highlight of the last set of the group stage matches was when Barcelona midfielder frankie de jong found out that his former team Ajax didn't make it to the next round, he showed his disappointed even though he now plays for another team.
