N-power : FG gives reason for 2 months salary delay
Following delay in payment to beneficiaries of N-Power programme across the country, the federal government has explained reasons for the current situation.
Speaking on the development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development, attributed the delay to the handing and taking over process of the programme. Going further, she said that the delay is also connected to lack of proper exit plan for beneficiaries that enrolled in 2016. She said the ministry is making efforts to develop exit plan which was not in existent. Meanwhile, she assured beneficiaries that the money owed them would be paid upon conclusion of the handing over and taking over process. She also added that the FG will continue to fund its Social Investment Programmes and ensure that it touches lives positively. Meanwhile it was earlier reported by Obiaksnews that a lot of beneficiaries have come out to complain about the delay in their stipends and how some of them have become stranded and are finding it difficult to go to their places of primary assignment. Some other beneficiaries also expressed their displeasure over the way some of their colleagues were pushed out of the programme without any tangible reason.
