Super eagles move four places up in the latest fifa rankings

Super Eagles climbed four places up in the latest FIFA ranking as they are now ranked the 31st best team in the world. The Nigerian side tutored by Gernot Rohr were previously in 35th position in the October ranking but ascended in the November edition.
The three-time African champions played two AFCON qualifiers in November and defeated Benin and Lesotho within the space of six days. Nigeria beat Benin 2-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo and traveled to the south to defeat Lesotho by 4-2. Rohr's side have remained unbeaten since their semi-final loss to eventual champions Algeria at the last 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt. Nigeria have gone on to play two international friendlies during the international break in September and October against Ukraine and Brazil, which both ended in a draw. Senegal are currently the highest-ranked African team as they occupy the 20th position while Tunisia is second in 27th. African champions Algeria are fourth in 35th position as Morocco complete the top five nations in the continent as they occupy the 43rd position. Belgium remain the number one team in the world as France, Brazil, England and Uruguay complete the top five teams in the globe.
