A governorship election campaign by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) turned violent on Wednesday, November 13, as gunmen attacked loyalists of the party killing three people at a rally.
According to reports, one of the victims the violence, was Simon Onu, a driver of an OB van attached to a radio station belonging to Bayelsa state. The rally was to hold at Okolomabiri in Nembe local government area of the state, but the gunmen suddenly appeared at the venue and engaged in indiscriminate shooting resulting in confusion, chaos and party loyalists fleeing in various directions.
