Nigerian/Villarreal star responds to rumours about his move to Liverpool
Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has admitted that he is opened to playing in the Premier League but insisted that he will not be desperate about the move.
The 20-year-old has been enterprising for his Spanish League outfit Villarreal since he broke into their first team last season. He has netted twice in 12 La Liga appearances so far this campaign and there are possibilities he will score more if given enough playing time. However, the former FIFA U17 World Cup winner has been linked with top Premier League clubs in recent times, with Liverpool said to be more interested in the Nigerian forward. And when asked about his links with the EPL clubs, Chukwueze told the media: “My ambition is to play in the Premier League, but I want to go to a club where I’m really wanted, where I will be a starting player. The winger, who is currently in the national team camp for the 2021 AFCON qualifier against Benin Republic added that: "Both the coach and club owner have to want me".Chukwueze was one of the standout players for Nigeria at the 2019 African Cup of Nations tourney but was unable to help them win the title. Chukwueze has also being said to be wanted by Barcelona, the the reports have not be confirmed to be true or false from the Barcelonian side.
