Court threatens to strike out case against Diezani Alison Maudeke

A Federal High Court in Abuja Tuesday, November 12, said that it is at the verge of striking out a charge of money laundering brought against Diezani Alison Maudeke, a former minister of petroleum.
The threat was given by the presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, during the court hearing held on Tuesday, The Nation reports. Ojukwu made the declaration when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)'s lawyer, Farouk Abdallah, said that the federal government was finding it difficult to extract Diezani. However, the EFFC lawyer said it was necessary to keep the charge against the former minister valid until her extraction is effected.
