Uncle, nephew arrested for alleged armed robbery

The Delta State police command has arrested a suspected armed robber, Chigozie Ohamago and his uncle, Patrick Okonkwo in connection with a robbery case in Okpanam community near Asaba.
        The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya disclosed this in a statement made available to the press. DSP Onovwakpoyeya also confirmed the recovery of one pump action gun and one fabricated pistol from the suspects by the police. The statement reads, “On the 2nd of November 2019, at about 1300hrs, one Okpala Wisdom’s of Umumake Okpanam reported at Okpanam Police Station that on 01/10/2019 at about 2100hrs, two unidentified gunmen attempted to rob his visitor, one Timothy Obanor of his belongings by firing a gun into the air, one of the suspects identified as Chigozie Ohamago of Ogbedogu quarters Okpanam was arrested. Investigation was extended to the suspect’s house by a team of detectives led by the DCO where a search warrant was executed and guns recovered.
        According to the statement, the suspect had claimed the pump-action was given to him by his uncle, Patrick Okonkwo of the same address, while the fabricated pistol was given to him by one Japheth, surname unknown for safekeeping. While noting that efforts have been intensified to apprehend the said Japheth, DSP Onovwakpoyeya said Patrick Okonkwo has been arrested and full investigation has commenced.
