Tension as Formular 1 driver drops disturbing message on social media

Formula one racing driver Lewis Hamilton recently left his fans scratching their heads after he took to social media to share a worrying post on giving up.
Hamilton sparked fears he could potentially leave F1 after taking to Instagram to claim that very little mattered anymore. “Honestly, I feel like giving up on everything. Shut down completely,” he posted on his Instastory. But the race driver quickly deleted the message probably after realizing his error that for a celebrity who has over 13.2 million followers to share something like that is not right, but that was not before curious online onlookers had grabbed it. “Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don’t seem to care?” he asked. He also seemed to suggest he would take a sabbatical to “gather his thoughts – something which threw his ardent fans into a frenzy. Barely 48 hours after his initial sentiments went viral, Mercedes have come out to diffuse any tension by saying everything was alright as far as Hamilton was concerned.
Mercedes said their main driver was simply talking about the environment and there was nothing to worry about as far as his career was concerned. “I think he was referring to environmental issues and not anything related to racing,” a spokesperson was quoted by Express UK. His fans have since flooded him with unconditional support, with some getting the sense that he was going through some form of mental breakdown that needed attention from a professional. The 34-year old is under a deal with Mercedes which is supposed to run till the end of the year, although the contract was cast into serious doubt following his Instagram posts. Only two days ago, Hamilton was on top of the world once again as he won his sixth consecutive Constructors’ Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix. Despite the success, he seemed to suggest on his Instagram that his life lacked meaning.
