Bauchi governor warns Emirs against conniving with criminals, bandits, others

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has warned traditional rulers in the state against conniving with criminals, vowing to remove anyone found wanting. He gave the warning when he received members of the State Council of Traditional Rulers led by the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu, at Government House, Bauchi.
The governor lamented that the state had experienced attacks in Toro, Dass, Alkaleri and Ganjuwa local government areas, leading to loss of lives. But he said security measures had been put in place to prevent a recurrence. Mohammed said, “We call on you to fear God in your capacity as leaders because we all are your followers. We’ve heard the story of what is happening in other places like banditry in Zamfara State and what even happened to some traditional rulers there. I want to use this opportunity to beg you, our Emirs, to warn all those under you, those criminals and bandits who attack and kill people and steal their property, connive with traditional rulers like village heads, district heads and even Emirs, to change.” Adamu said the visit was to commend the governor for some of the programmes and projects his administration had so far embarked upon.
