Former Arsenal star sets records, scores 34 goals to clinch golden boot in the MLS

Former Arsenal star Carlos Vela has recorded his name in the history books of the MLS by beating Zlatan Ibrahimovic to win the Golden Boot award with 34 goals.
In 2012, Carlos Vela was sold by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to Real Sociedad, and the 30-year-old Mexican has now become a huge star in US playing for Los Angeles FC. Carlos Vela's incredible record in the MLS comes less than a week after rejected Arsenal star Serge Gnabry netted four goals in the Champions League against Tottenham. The race for the Golden Boot in America was between Carlos Vela and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the former Manchester United star scored 30 goals and was beaten. Carlos Vela has now set a new goal scoring record in the US with 34 goals beating Josef Martinez's MLS record with 31 goals. Vela scored three goals in 29 Premier League appearances for Arsenal in nearly six years in which 26 of them came as a substitute. He joined Los Angeles FC in 2018 and was only able to score 14 goals in 29 games last season, and this term, he doubled his effort and won the Golden Boot.
