Wadume saga: Police arrest 11 more suspects

11 more suspects believed to be members of alleged kidnap kingpin Hamisu Bala Wadume’s gang, have been arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
According to The Nation, 18 AK47 rifles were also recovered in the operation which covered Taraba and neighboring states. Legit.ng gathers that useful statements are being made by the suspects who are also said to be providing leads into the three kidnap syndicates allegedly operated by Wadume. The Joint Investigative Panel looking into the killing of the three undercover policemen by soldiers in Taraba state as they returned from arresting the kingpin, however, stated that its report is not yet ready. The panel’s chairman, Rear Admiral Ibikunle Olaiya, reportedly made the disclosure on Monday, September 2, while responding via telephone to questions about the panel’s findings. Olaiya debunked reports that the panel had submitted its findings to the chief of defence staff, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin. He said: “I can tell you categorically as the chairman that no such thing has happened. I have told you before that when the panel is ready with its report, the public will know.
