Transfer: Barcelona make late bid to hijack De Ligt’s move to Juventus

Barcelona has made a late attempt to hijack Matthijs de Ligt’s imminent move to Juventus. However, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Ajax captain, will not make a u-turn.
        De Ligt emerged as the hottest property in world football this summer, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain all tipped to make a move. Barca also appeared to be in pole position, but failed to reach an agreement and the 19-year-old is now set to seal his switch to Turin this week. De Ligt is expected to undergo his medical with Juventus on Monday, arriving for a fee of £60m. The Italian champions will insert a release clause of £135m (€150m) in his contract.
