Many armed bandits have met their Waterloo at the hands of security operatives in Zamfara state. Some of the gunmen were killed during shootout with the security agents during clearance operation in various forests within the state.

          Last week, security operatives were deployed to Zamfara state over the incessant killings and kidnappings by armed bandits. The security agents begun operations in earnest to apprehend the masterminds responsible for the chaos and flush out criminal elements in the region. Zamfara has been ravaged by bandits and kidnappers for over two years now. The bandits raze markets and homes and kill villagers indiscriminately.
