Premier League star named Champions League Player of the week

 Roberto Firmino of Liverpool has been named as UEFA Champions League Player of the week - Firmino scored the second goal in Liverpool's 2-0 win over FC Porto on Tuesday, April 9 - He beat Frenkie De Jong, Son Heung-min and Gerard Pique to win the prize Liverpool superstar Roberto Firmino has been named UEFA Champions League player of the week after helping his team to beat FC Porto on Tuesday, April 9.
     The Brazil international scored the second goal for Liverpool in their 2-0 win over FC Porto at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal encounter. UEFA who are the governing body in charge of Champions League took to their official Twitter handle to announce the winner on Friday, April 12. Firmino beat Ajax star Frenkie De Jong, Tottenham forward Son and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique to be named Player of the week. Frenkie De Jong and his teammates were forced to a 1-1 draw in their Champions League tie by Juventus in which Ronaldo scored for the Old Lady. Son was superb for Tottenham as he scored the goal that gave Spurs a victory over Manchester City.
