UK Police Arrest WikiLeaks Founder, Julian Assange

The British police has finally arrested the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange. Assange was arrested by the British police at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London. Announcing Assange’s arrest, the Metropolitan Police said its officers had taken Assange into custody at a central London police station.
The police disclosed that the WikiLeaks founder would be presented to Westminster Magistrates’ Court “as soon as is possible. According to MET, “Officers were invited into the embassy, after the Ecuadorean police withdrew Mr Assange’s asylum. Assange has been living in the Ecuadorean embassy in London’s Knightsbridge since 2012, in order to avoid extradition to answer a rape investigation in Sweden. Swedish prosecutors have since dropped their inquiry, but the WikiLeaks founder still faces the lesser charge of breaching bail in the UK. He was arrested on Thursday on a warrant issued by Westminster Magistrates’ Court in 2012, for failing to surrender to the court.
