Boko Haram commander and Nyanya, Kuje bombing mastermind arrested by Police's Intelligence unit

A suspect believed to have been the mastermind of the Nyanya and Kuje 2015 bombings in Abuja has been apprehended by officers of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) --a special unit of the Nigeria Police Force.

Umar Abdulmalik, is said to one of the most deadly Boko Haram Commander.

Abdulmalik possess' an extensive criminal record which include bank robber, assassination and prison break. He is said to also be an explosives expert.

He is said to be the leader of the gang responsible several police killings in Abuja including the Galadimawa roundabout killing of 7 police officers, killing of Lugbe police officers and Gwagwalada area police killings.

He has been linked to multiple bank roberries across Edo and Ondo states and several several killings in Okene Axis of Kogi.

He is also said to be the commander of the Niger state prison break, which led to the escape of more than 100 prisoners, losing one of his eyes in that attack.

According sources quoted by the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), "The suspect was arrested by the IRT Special team today after he escaped with bullet wounds from Abuja three weeks ago when IRT teams arrested four of his gang members and recovered 4 AK47 rifles and hundreds of ammunitions.

"He is responsible for hundreds of death of innocent citizens and Police Officers across the nation; and he has been apprehended," the source said.
