UEFA Champions League: Round of 16 draw pairs old and familiar foes together

Old and familiar foes have been paired for the round of 16 Champions League matches following the draw held Thursday.

Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho will once again face off with round of 16 foes, Paris Saint Germain, when Manchester United welcomes the French champions to Old Trafford. The match up between the clubs comes a day after Manchester United lost a derby game to old rivals Liverpool.


English league leaders, Liverpool was drawn against German champions Bayern Munchen, a game that will bring back familiar memories for the Red's manager Jurgen Klopp.

Other big pair ups will also see Cristiano Ronaldo face Atletico de Madrid when his Juventus team travels to his former stomping city, Madrid. The Portuguese star surely expects a hostile reception when he plays at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Manchester City travels will travel to Germany to battle Schalke O4, Ajax will welcome defending champions Real Madrid, Tottenham will plays host to Borrusia Dortmund, AS Roma plays FC Porto and Lyon hosts Lionel Messi's Barcelona.

The first leg of the round of 16 games will be split over two midweek dates, on February 12/13 and 19/20 and the return fixtures will be played over March 5/6 and 12/13.

The final will take place on June 1 at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
