Radio presenter Tosyn Bucknor dies from sickle cell complications, aged 37

On-Air Personality and Inspiration FM presenter Tosyn Bucknor, has died at the age of 37 after complications from sickle cell, reports says.

The presenter was found dead in her home by her French husband, Aurelien Boyer, when he arrived from work on Monday night.

She has been described as an all-round media professional, singer, actress, lawyer and activist.

Following the news of her death was confirmed, celebrities and Nigerians have posting tributes on social media.

A former colleague at Top Radio, Wale Adigun, via his Twitter account wrote: "So full of life, excitement and always willing to lend a helping hand. This is so devastating!! Rest on Voice of Lagos. Rest on Tosyn Bucknor"

Tosyn sister, Olufunke Bucknor Obruthe, posted Olufunke Bucknor reacting to the death via her Instagram page:  "Hmmmmm… My heart is heavy, but in all things we give thanks to God.

"My darling sister and besto Tosyn passed away last night due to complications from sickle cell. Love you."

Toke Makinwa, a popular OAP/presenter wrote on her Instagram: "I met you in 1999. We started our radio careers at the same time and I had to leave for a while. But you forged ahead and became this superstar. I would listen to you on my way to work in the bank and I got the courage to come back.

"I celebrate you today, Tosyn. You lived, you loved and you fought hard. We love you, but God needs you home."
