Saudi prosecutor seek death penalty for Khashoggi's killers

Saudi prosecutor investigating the the murder of Washington Post columnist and critic of Saudi Arabia's policy, Jamal Khashoggi, is seeking the death penalty for 5 suspects charged in connection wiuth the murder.

"The Public Prosecutor has requested the death penalty for 5 individuals who are charged with ordering and committing the crime and for the appropriate sentences for the other indicted individuals."

Spokesman for the prosecutors office Shaalan al-Shaalan told reporters khashoggi death resulted from being administered a dose of lethal injection shortly after a struggle.

His body was then dismembered, body parts handed over to an agent outside the consulate grounds, the spokesman said.

He added that the location of Khashoggi's body remain unknown.

He, however, denied the involvement of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

This is the confirmation of from the Saudis about how Khashoggi murder occurred.

Shaalan said, General Ahmed al-Assiri -Deputy chief of Saudi's intelligence had given the order to repatriate Khashoggi but "the head of the negotiating team" sent to Istanbul consulate had ordered his murder after "negotiations" for his return to the kingdom failed.
