California Wildfrie: Death toll now at 31, equals 1933 Griffith Park disaster record

The deadly California wildfire ravaging the US west coast is on track to become the deadliest in the state's history and has calimed its 31st victim on Sunday after six people were found dead.
At least 200 people are still unaccounted for in northern California with officials warning that hot dry winds expected to blow until Tuesday will create an erratic burst in flames, increasing the urgency of evacuation.
At a news conference, Ventura County's Fire Chief pointed out the rapid rate at which wildfires in the state spread in comparison to a decade ago.
"We are entering a new normal. The rate of spread is exponentially more than it used to be," said Chief Mark Lorenzen
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is urging resident to follow and adhere to evacuation orders. Chief Daryl Osby of the LAFD said "Winds are already blowing. They are going to blow for the next three days. Your house can be rebuilt but you can't bring your life back."
With the death toll now at 31, it equals the deadliest wildfire on record in California - the 1933 Griffith Park disaster in Los Angeles.
So far, more than 250,000 have been forced away from their homes.
