Ex-Ekiti Governor Fayose regains freedom

The immediate past governor Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has been release by anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, after meeting his bail condition on Monday evening.

His release was conveyed by his spokeperson, Lere Olayinka via via his Twitter handle, adding that the ex-governor would return to court on November 16.

Fayose spent 13 days in custody of the EFCC after surrendering to the agency on October 13th at their head office in Abuja. He was subsequently flown to Lagos and arraigned at a federal high court in Ikoyi, which granted him a N50 million bail on Wednesday.

He was also asked to provide a surety with landed property in Lagos. His guarantor is also required to have three-year tax clearance in Lagos.
