FIFA, CAF send observers for NFF board election

As election day for a new Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) draws ever closer, international football body are paying moer attention than ever considering the recent troubles Nigeria's football community bhas had in regards to its leadership.

Football world body, Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the continental equivalent Confederation of African Football (CAF) has both named their delegation to act as observers for both bodies in this important event.

FIFA named Messrs Luca Piazza (a senior official in the FIFA President's office) and Solomon Mudege (FIFA's Senior Manager for Development Programmes, Africa) as its representatives while CAF named Mr Sita Sangare (President of the Burkina Faso Football Federation) for the September 20th elections, schedule to take place in Katsina.

The NFF Electoral Committee headed by Mr Muhammed Sani Katu will conduct the polls.

Current NFF President Amaju Pinnick has been cleared by the committee to seek for re-election. Others also vying for the top position include Taiwo Ogunjobi (former Nigeria international and one –time NFF Secretary General), Aminu Maigari (former NFF President) and Chinedu Okoye.

Only the 44 members of the NFF Congress will be able to cast their votes on Thursday.
