Two people have been killed and another seriously injured in a knife attack in Paris.
The attacker was shot dead by police in Trappes, France, after making threats against officers.
Sources say the man, believed to be in his 30s, shouted: ‘Allahu akbar, if you enter I smoke you all' from inside a house after attacking people with a knife, Le Parisien reports.
Some sources say the knifeman was known to police although this is yet to be confirmed.
A French security source said: ‘The incident took place soon after 10am. A man attacked passers-by in rue Camille Claudel in Trappes.
‘He disappeared into a house when police arrived at the scene, and when he came out he was shot.'
Armed police are at the scene and are urging locals to avoid the area.
