Woman ‘has throat slit' in attack at Hilton hotel in Manchester

A woman has been attacked at a hotel in Manchester with witnesses reporting that her throat has been slit.

She is said to have flagged down police outside the Hilton hotel on Deansgate and is now being treated for lacerations to her neck.

They were stopped at 11.10am this morning following the attack which took place inside the hotel.

Police said the incident is not currently being treated as a terrorist act and the attack was not carried out at random.

Six people including four men and two women have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and police have set up cordons inside one of the hotel rooms and outside the building.

Anthil86 wrote on Twitter: ‘Something massive going on at The Hilton Hotel on #Deansgate, #Manchester must be at least 15 police cars, police running in and out of hotel and into car park opposite my office and there appears to be a woman with her throat slit!'

Greater Manchester Police said: ‘Armed police remain at the Hilton hotel on Deansgate in the city centre after a woman was attacked inside the hotel.

‘Shortly after 11.10am on Monday 23 July 2018 police officers on Deansgate were flagged down by a woman with serious injuries to her neck.

‘The woman has been taken to hospital where she is being treated for lacerations to her neck.

‘Four men, aged 20, 24, 26 and 26 and two women, aged 17 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

‘They are all in custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.

‘Scenes remain in place inside one of the hotel rooms and outside the hotel itself.
