Moroccan told to leave Russia for wearing shirt critical of Fifa

A Moroccan football fan detained by Russia police for wearing a T-shirt criticising FIFA has spoken of his experience following the incident.
Yassine Omairy, a Moroccan-American from Orlando said he decided to wear the branded T-shirt to Morocco's last game against Spain, to protest the poor officiating he said the African side received in their defeat to Portugal in the group stages of the competition.
Speaking to Euronews by telephone, Omairy said, "the referee didn't give two clear penalties and the first Cristiano Ronaldo goal happened after a clear foul missed by the referee. During the game we noticed a lot of unfair decisions went against Morocco and we realised that there was something behind this - we saw that Fifa only supports the big teams."
Omairy added that while inside the stadium, he was taken to a police station by three police officers, after he refused to take off the shirt at the request of a match official.
Once at the station, he said his phone and passport were confiscated, before being released to watch the second half of the game.
"After the game I went to pick up my passport and they told me to leave the country as soon as possible," he told Euronews. "I will never forget this experience because I was treated unfairly and wrongly."
EUronews says it has reached out to Fifa for a response.
