At least eight killed by suicide bomber near Afghan clerics' peace tent in Kabul

The suicide bomb blast which took place near Muslim clerics who were leaving a giant tent in the west of the Afghan capital of Kabul on Monday killed at least eight people, security officials said of the latest attack in a growing cycle of violence.
The suicide bomber detonated the device in near a residential area in the west of Kabul where women could be seen crying as they gathered with their families.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Religious scholars from across the country, on Sunday began a meeting at the Loya Jirga (Grand Council) tent. The clerics numbering well over 2,000 denounced years of conflict and planned to issue a religious order (a fatwa) demanding the Taliban militants restore peace, which would allow foreign troops to leave.
In recent months, Kabul has witnessed a series of bombings which has killed dozens of people and has continued in to the holy month of Ramadan.
The most recent being the Wednesday attack on the heavily fortified headquarters of the interior ministry by a group of gunmen armed with assault rifles and grenade launchers, which lasted for more than two hour as they battled with security forces.
