Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos escapes Champions League ban for entering tunnel - reports

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos will not miss the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich after breaching UEFA rules by watching the final minutes of his team's game against Juventus on Wednesday from the tunnel while serving a one-match ban, according to reports.

European football's governing body has opted not to punish Ramos after the referee's report said he had not been "at pitch level."

The decision means Ramos can be selected for the Champions League semifinal against Bayern, who they knocked out in the quarterfinals last year.

A late Cristiano Ronaldo penalty put Madrid into the last four 4-3 on aggregate after Juventus had led 3-0 at the Bernabeu to level a dramatic tie.
