Italian arrested for killing Nigerian wife and 4-year-old daughter in Lagos

An Italian man, Peter Nielsen, has been arrested by police for allegedly murdering his wife and 4-year-old daughter. The victims are believed to have been murdered in the early hours of Thursday in the family's residence at Ocean Parade, Banana Island, Lagos state.

The suspect is said to have been taken into custody by officers of the Lagos State police command. The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the arrest of the suspect for murder, adding that a CSI team had already been deployed to the crime scene  .

He said, "The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the arrest of the suspect and he is in police custody. It is pre-emptive now to ascertain the cause of the incident. The CP has dispatched crime scene investigators to the place to pick evidences for analysis which can be used for prosecution.

"The command has also written the Embassy of the suspect that the police are investigating the case."

Wife of the suspect, Zainab Ali-Nielsen is of Nigerian descent and a native of Kogi State. Popularly known as Alizee, reports days she had signed a two-year record deal with an Asian record label, Petra Entertainment in 2017, which reportedly earned her a brand new Ford explorer, a house on Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.

The corpses of Zainab and her daughter, Petra, have been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.
