South Korean actor accused of sexual assaults found dead

A South Korean actor who had been facing accusations of sexual assault of at least eight people, has been found dead, report says.

The actor, Jo Min-ki, was found dead at his home in Seoul, according to news agency Yonhap and the Korea Times, who cited police. The 52 year old who had appeared in mostly TV shows and a couple of films was among the biggest names to be caught up in the #MeToo movement in South Korea. 

He was accused of sexually harassing and raping students at Cheongju University, where he had taught for the past few years and was due to be questioned by police next week. 

He was dismissed because of the accusations and having initially denied it all, he later released a statement apolosing to his victims, on 27 February.

"Everything is my fault, and I am the one to blame," he said. "I am deeply sorry to all the victims for the pain I've caused, and from here on out, I will not avoid the social and legal consequences of my mistakes."
