Lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Thursday, unanimously passed a vote of no confidence in the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and the Minister of State, Mr. Abubakar Bawa-Bwari.

The decision was taken after both ministers chose not to attend a debate on steel development in Nigeria, designed to help find solutions to the troubled Ajaokuta Steel Plant.

Parliament members were outraged over their non-appearance which ultimately led to the Leader of the House, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, moving the motion of no confidence vote.
