Christian Coleman breaks Maurice Greene's Twenty Year Record

Christian Coleman has broken the 60 metres world record when he ran 6.34 seconds on Sunday, at the US Indoor National Championship in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The record of 6.39 seconds was held by another American Maurice Greene for 20 years.

The world 100 metre silver medalist, will now lead the American team  at the IAAF's world indoor championships in Birmingham, England next month. Coleman reacting to his world record breaking run said: "It feels like a blur."

"I wanted to go get it," Coleman said after the race. "I put a lot of work in my start and transition. It's all paying off."

Coleman had last month broken the record, running for 6.37 seconds in South Carolina but it was not awarded due to technical reasons.
