U.S. congressional panel to investigate accusations that White House ignored FBI's warning on Porter

Following the controversy that surrounded the white house and circumstances leading to the resignations of former white house staff secretary Rob Porter over allegations of domestic abuse, a major congressional committee has began an investigation into how the White House handled the allegations.
A statement by its republican chairman, Trey Gowdy, said "The chronology is not favorable for the White House." The chairman of the House of Representatives Oversight Committee was speaking on reports that President Donald Trump had been repeatedly told by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the allegations, warning that the administration should not give Porter access to sensitive information with security implications.
