Government Shutdown: House of Representatives approves bill.

The overnight effort by lawmakers to avert the second government of the year is proving fruitful as the U.S. House of Representatives overcame its political divide to approve the stopgap funding and budget measure bill that will keep the US government functional for the next 2 years.

The bill will now go to the White House for president Trump to sign into law, saving the republican from further embarrassment. The Republicans control both the congress and the White House but has found increasingly difficult to perform basic functions with several of their legislation failing to get the required votes.

The white house in a statement said the the bill will be signed by the president which will ultimately put an end to the shutdown before serious interruptions in government's operations occur.
