Congressional vote against net neutrality repeal supported by internet firms

The net neutrality repeal by the Trump administrationis facing a congressional reversal despite it is yet to take effect. The Federal Communications Commission's had voted that the net neutrality rule which forbade internet service providers from blocking traffic or offering paid fast lanes also termed "paid prioritization".
A trade gropu representing internet firms like Alphabet Inc, Amazon.com Inc, Microsoft Corp, Facebook Inc and many others are backing the the congressional reversal. In a letter to senate leaders, it backed their effort to reverse the FCC's vote, also adding "The internet industry urges Congress to legislate a permanent solution".
The effort by the senate to reverse the vote is supplemented by over 20 state attorneys general seeking a legal path towards preventing the repeal. The net neutrality rule was introduced in 2015.
