Google fined by India's regulatory commission

Search engine giant, Google, are being fined $21.17 million (1.36 billion rupee) by India's antitrust watchdog, Competition Commission of India (CCI) for what it termed "search bias". This is the latest regulatory difficulty, Google, the world's most popular and most utilized search engine is faced with. 

Alphabet Inc's Google is said to have been abusing its dominance in web serch and online advertising markets by indulging in search bias practices which by doing so, harms competitors as well as users, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said in its order.

The commission added that the company had 60 days ultimatum to pay the fine.
