Weekend Box Office

It has been an incredible weekend filled with so much fun, from the Super Bowl and Justin timberlke's haftime perfomance, to Kylie Jenner's  child birth news but it has also been a great weekend for movies showing across various cinamas. We will be taking a look at the Top 10 movies at the box office for this past weekend.

Despite the busy weekend, "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" climbed back to the top of the North American box office, leading a weekend dominated by the Super Bowl, with $11 million. This climaxed an incredible run for the action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and Kelvin Hart, which also won the box office from its third to fifth weekends. "Jumanji"  also became the 42nd highest all time domestic grosser with $352.6 million, $500,000 behind "Furious 7" for the 41st spot.

"Jumanji" is only the 11th title to top $11 million in its seventh weekend. That is the lowest total for a first-place film since the second weekend of "The Hitman's Bodyguard" won the final frame of August.

Fox's "Maze Runner: The Death Cure," the third and final installment of the "Maze Runner" series, finished in second with $10.2 million. New comer, Helen Mirren's horror-thriller "Winchester," kicked off it's campaign in third with $9.3 million, exceeding expectations placed in the range $6 million to $8 million.
